On 12 September, the China-UK Business Development Centre (CUKBDC) and Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) proudly co-hosted the Suzhou–UK Business Cooperation Conference in London.

As China’s No.1 national development zone for nine consecutive years, SIP is renowned for its openness, innovation, and world-class business environment. The Park is home to more than 5,000 foreign-invested enterprises and has become a hub of advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and smart mobility.

In his keynote address, John McLean OBE, Chairman of CUKBDC, congratulated SIP on two landmark new investments: Nexteer Automotive’s RMB 1 billion Asia-Pacific headquarters project and Bosch’s RMB 10 billion smart driving innovation project.

These major commitments are strong signals of international confidence in SIP’s business environment. He also highlighted the unique opportunity to combine the UK’s strengths in finance, advanced technologies, and creative industries with SIP’s leadership in emerging sectors — opening new avenues for trade, innovation, and sustainable growth.

The event brought together leaders and experts from bioindustry, the digital economy, finance, innovation, education, and international cooperation, reflecting the depth and breadth of UK–China engagement. SIP also presented an inspiring video showcasing the life and work of international professionals in Suzhou.

CUKBDC extends its sincere thanks to all who joined and supported the event. Building on this momentum, the Centre looks forward to further deepening partnerships between Suzhou and the UK.
