Wuhan hosted the 2023 Global Investment Promotion Conference in March. 188 projects in the sectors of information technology, automotive, healthcare and life science, financial services, have been signed with a value totalling RMB 460 billion. The Party Secretary and Mayor of Wuhan, along with leaders of all the government departments and guests from foreign-invested companies, have attended the conference.
John Mclean OBE, Chairman of China UK Business Development Centre (CUKBDC), sent a video message to the conference. John recalled leading an event at the Guild Hall at the City of London in February, title “Together We Fight Against the Virus”, where 300 people came together in support of Wuhan.
John is optimistic about UK-Wuhan collaboration in green finance, innovation, technology and digital service, which would be able to contribute to Wuhan’s target of an international technology and innovation centre.
