Visit to China - July 2023

The chair of CUKBDC John McLean OBE visited eight cities in two weeks in July 2023. The visit was very successful with each city presenting a wide range of opportunities for British businesses. Below are the highlights of his visit.

Wuhan

Nanjing

Mr Deng Zhiyi, member of the Standing Committee of Nanjing Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Nanjing, received the delegation and had a constructive conversation with Mr John McLean OBE CUKBDC Chairman on the comprehensive pilot project to expand opening up the service sector in Nanjing.

The delegation visited Jianye District, and Jiangsu Suning Bank, and had in-depth exchanges with Mr. Huang Jinlao, the Bank chairman, on international experience in inclusive finance and digital banks.

Mr. Chu Kairong, General Manager and Managing Director of Hongye Futures Company, introduced fintech and green finance to the delegation.

2023 Sino-UK Dialogue on Finance

The first Sino-UK Working station set up with Hexi CBD aiming to promote the Green Finance and Smart Finance.

Mr John McLean OBE CUKBDC Chairman is appointed to be the ambassador to promote

Hexi CBD.
