An event highlighting opportunities for Chinese businesses seeking to invest in Europe took place in Shanghai during the inaugural Overseas Investment & Comprehensive Services Fair (OIC).

The session, entitled New Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises Going Global in Europe, brought together representatives from government, financial institutions and professional services firms to explore European market trends and strategies for international expansion.
Lord Grimstone, former UK Investment Minister, delivered the keynote address, setting out high-level prospects for trade and cooperation throughout Europe.

John McLean OBE, Chairman of the China-UK Business Development Centre (CUKBDC), offered practical advice on market entry, local partnership building and long-term growth for Chinese enterprises operating in Europe. Alex Roberts also participated in the panel discussion.

Speakers emphasised that successful global expansion demands a clear market strategy, combined with local resources and professional support.

The CUKBDC – one of Europe’s largest trade promotion bodies in China, with 13 offices nationwide and its headquarters based in London – confirmed it will continue to support businesses in delivering high-quality international growth through UK-China and EU-China collaboration across trade, investment, technology and education.
